At Sweat Shop Hot Yoga Studio in Oconomowoc Wisconsin we offer four different types of classes and different class varieties. At a lot of other yoga studios or hot yoga studios near you, you might find classes called Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Hot Yoga… and the confusing list goes on. Well with Oconomowoc yoga, you can leave confusion at the door. You don’t have to be a yogi just to figure out which type of class to take. We like to keep things simple and straightforward for hot yoga classes. Our class options include Basics, Classic, Flow and Power Yoga. And all of our classes are heated classes, at different temperatures or different levels. The hot yoga classes helps with a multitude of things including helping us burn more calories, expel toxins out of the body, improve our cardiovascular systems, get clearer skin, feel refreshed and helps our muscles lengthen and become more flexible. We will take some time to explain the different styles of classes that we offer, what they mean and what temperature the classes are heated to. All of our classes are suitable for beginners so whether you’ve never done or you’re our classes are for you.

Our Classic class is geared towards beginner yoga students, but it’s also appropriate for more experienced individuals as well. The basics class is a good foundational hot yoga class to start with. The basics Oconomowoc yoga class is the perfect place to start your yoga journey. Keep in mind that everybody starts somewhere. Our teachers, as always, will provide demonstration of the poses and will verbally cue slight adjustments to help you get into the proper posture and form. The Basics class is the perfect place to work on and improve your body, stamina and practice different warrior poses. We recommend that students who are new to Sweat Shop hot yoga start with the Basics class to ease into the poses. Starting in the Basics class is also a good way to ease your body into the warm temperature of hot yoga classes. If any class is challenging for you, taking a resting position such as child’s pose or corpse pose is always appropriate. We encourage you to stay in the room for the entire duration of the class, but if you feel uncomfortable, we encourage you to do what is best for. If that means leaving the room, please feel welcome to do that quietly so that you do not interrupt your fellow yogis.

We also offer a classic Hot Yoga class. This is our warmest yoga class, the room is heated to 105 degrees. This class is always the same. So there are different time periods or lengths of this class. There is a 60 minute Oconomowoc yoga class and a 90 minute hot yoga class class, depending on interest we may also include a 30 minute class and we’re working on getting a 30 minute Classic hot yoga class up on our YouTube channel. The Classic hot yoga class involves 26 postures and two breathing exercises. Again, this class is always the same movements. This can be a good class for people who like to really evaluate their progress class to class or week-to-week. A lot of students find that regularly taking our Classic hot yoga class allows them the ability to make minor adjustments and improvements week-to-week whereas in other classes it’s hard to evaluate progress. Also the advantage of our Classic class is that because every class is the same, maybe something that the teacher says or one of the cues that they give during this class helps you further understand the pose and truly get into it. This class helps rejuvenate your entire body that you will feel so good afterwards. The class also promotes a detoxification and the lengthening of your muscles which helps you feel relaxed, cleansed and have a focused mind.

Flow Yoga class is a medium temperature to 95 degrees. If you are a regular yogi or practice yoga frequently this is very similar to a Vinyasa style class where a lot of the poses and sequences flow together very smoothly. And in our flow class you will move from one pasture to the next and we have music to help promote this feeling overall environments and class to improve your well-being as a whole.Our Flow Oconomowoc yoga classes will strengthen your mind and body connection as you integrate your breath with every movement. From one posture to the next we will do what is called breath to movement so each time that we do a pose and move into a new pose we’ll do so on either and inhale or an exhale. As with all yoga classes the most important thing in our Flow Yoga class is to concentrate on your breathing and remember to relax and center into your breath.

The fourth type of yoga class that we offer is called our power yoga class and this class is heated to 95 degrees. Our power hot yoga class will help you build strength, focus, endurance and flexibility. Power hot yoga classes at a moderate to Fast Pace. This quicker pace than found in our other classes helps build heat within the body. The Power class is much quicker than our Basics or Flow classes. So the Power Yoga class is really great for burning and torching extra calories. Again at the moderate to fast pace of the power yoga classes helps facilitate building strength and also helps with cardio training which means that is excellent for our cardiovascular systems and our heart. This class is also paired up with more upbeat medium fast-paced music which makes for an invigorating experience. The Oconomowoc yoga Power classes are great if you like to move and burn calories.
